I would gladly pay. I have been running MMJB v7.5 and I love it. I have to manually enter artist and song, but I can't find anything out there that allows me to fade in, fade out, select parts of a song to record. A lot of CD's have hidden tracks where 2 songs are on 1 track but there is a huge silent gap between the songs. With MMJB, I can eliminate the gap and record just the song. And it WORKS!

I too would be happy to pay for something like Musicmatch that's compatible with the Windows 7 64-bit OS. I've seen a ton of confused, frustrated people on the web trying to use the various work-a-rounds to make MMJB work on this platform with hit and miss results. Nothing's worked for me.

I too have been forever searching for a MMJB replacement or someone who has a 'fixed/working' copy of MMJB. I've a Windows 7 64-Bit machine and I'm a little luckier than most in that my MMJB works great except for burning/ripping CD's. I get the infamous 'No CD/DVD Drives detected" message. I'd happily PAY for a completely working & compatible MMJB for my computer!! I miss the full functionality and had hopes that Jamie would be able to find a solution, but I've been watching these boards for quite some time now... doesn't look to be much progress. I have a Windows 7 64-bit machine too but haven't been able to get MMJB working on it. Is it because I'm trying to use ver. 10 and not 8.2? How did you get it to work? Any tricks to keep in mind when you installed it? With much appreciation in advance... David

I thought I was the only one but now I know there are 1,000's who think MMJB was the best music program written . . I thought someone would have brought out a copy of it, or even a cloned version. I have it working 100% on XP pro and been using it on Wins 7 with some success but my problem is using my optical sound card on win7 .. .I transfare music from my minidisc via the card recording with MMJB if I don't find a replacement I will have to keep on a PC just for MMJB and my optical card reader

MMJB was without THEE best music management program out there. I'd be glad to pay to get the ball rolling and be able to use it with full ( most ) features again also.

I have version 10.00.2058b installed. I did no tweaking at all... just installed and it works all except for the DVD burning. Well, all works that I use... I might not delve as far into the program as others have done. Sorry for the slow response, I don't check this board as often as I used to. I have been looking for a replacement for a long time as well. I have found MusicBee to be very promising (and free). Check it out at getmusicbee.com.

I've tried Clementine and MusicBee as MMJ 7 replacements....both had their pros and cons. Came back to MMJ7. Have bought a new pc with Win7 and doubt I'll be successful in using my 2002 firewire iPod as a music player. I too would pay for a revamped MMJ that works on Win7 32 or 64 and is simple to use like MMJ7.

I've put off buying a Windows 7 pc because of the MMJB issues. I still have MMJB 10.00.4033 installed on my current XP box and am thinking that I'll probably just keep it and all my music there, even after I buy a new pc. I realize that this won't last forever, but I'm hoping that a solution arises before my current pc crashes and burns. I've tried alternatives to MusicMatch, notably MediaMonkey, but they are all too cumbersome and inadequate when compared to MusicMatch. I'll look at Clementine and MusicBee, but like all of you, I'm pretty spoiled for MMJB.

Uhm guys,,, I have MMJB 9.00.0128 running on windows 7 64. I kept every release of MMJB since ver 6. I can even get ver 10 to work but I never liked it. the only problem is I cannot get the cd lookup to work but I may even still have many of the skins.

I'm going to try Media Monkey. The video review I watched looked "ok enough" but yeah, I miss MMJB One solution I found, was to install VirtualBox, and setup a "virtual windows xp" machine, and run MMJB from there. I then load up the VM, load MMJB and whatever else I need, and simply "save the machine state". Then, I create a desktop shortcut the XP VM, and load it like any other program. Within seconds I have windows XP with MMJB loaded, still on the same song I left it on last time Bit of a head screw at first, but once set up, it's pretty convenient. I haven't found another solution, apart from either dual-booting to XP (brrr) or running a straight XP PC (brrr again for most modern uses) Hope it helps, and sorry if someone else already suggested this!

Also cd lookup stopped working as soon as it was taken over by yahoo music.

Has anyone followed this? I tried but the Yahoo link is now dead. I was hoping that someone has done it and still has the file that was downloaded directly from Yahoo. Musicmatch jukebox on VISTA and windows 7 64 bit Posted by MMJ-Fan on Tue, 11/17/2009 - 22:49.
Ok I can positively report that I have confirmed 2 methods to get MMJ 10 up and running on Win 7 64 bit. The first method is a bit involved but in many ways is the easiest and most trouble free.
What you have to do is install XP mode on Windows 7. This is not a compatibility mode its virtualisation. It does work very well but you need a machine with a lot of power and resources. once you have tghe virtual machine installed you will need to reboot. then install XP mode and reboot. Xp will need to be updated. go ahead and let XP update. You have to restart XP but not your machine. now drop the MMJ 10 installer on XP's desktop and run the installer. You dont have to adjust any settings or jump through any hoops. It will just install and will run perfectly. Import your music and you are all set. you can even runn MMJ without XP!
Method 2: This is crazy but it works:
go here first: www.bustercollings.com/blog/?p=282
Read it! now go here and get the right installer: download.yimg.com/ycs/music/ymj/us/ymj_2_2_2_058.exe
yes Thats the Yahoo version of MMJ. You need this if you want to do a direct install of the regular version of MMJ.
Go ahead and set the properties for the Yahoo installer to unblock and run as admin. do not use any compatibility mode! Now go ahead and run the Yahoo installer. Its straight foward and common sense. When you are done close it down.
Now go ahead and set the properties for MMJ installer. set to unblock and run as admin. Set compatibility mode to XP service pack 2. Now go ahead and run it. set it up as you normally would. I suggest you set your age to under 13 and uncheck the register electronically box. At the end of the installation you will be given the choice for standard or premium. choose standard. now wait. It will probably hang for a bit. just be paitent. Once MMJ comes up normal go ahead and put in your life time key. It will try and verify it and this will take a few minutes and fail. It will then inform you that you have been issued a provisional authentication. go ahead and yse use as normal. I dont know if there is a clock that starts ticking on that provisional autorisation or not but I have been running it for 2 weeks now with no hassels. hope this helps. feel free to ask any questions. I'll try and get back with you.

So, it has been a while... has anyone found a good replacement for MMJB, I also was a lifetime member and would gladly pay $10-50 to get it back.
