Okay guys I don't want to give anyone false hope but since I had a lot of down time today, I spent most of the day experimenting with MusicMatch and seeing if there was anything that could be done to get it to work. While MMJB is not functioning on my computer yet (using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Edition) I will say there have come 2 positives out of the situation I experimented with today.
(1) MMJB v10.00.2058 no longer abruptly stops in the middle of a start up at launch. I'm not sure if others have experienced this problem but in the past when clicking the icon to start the program, the tune for MMJB would start to play then abruptly stop and wouldn't play again without a computer restart. After doing some tweaking, updating the PX engine and downloading a new PX.dll file I have got MMJB to start up normally...I just can't get the actual program to come up.
(2) The second thing, and personally I think it's a huge step in the right direction, MusicMatch v10.00.2058 is recognizing my CD/DVD drive. Why is this huge? Because thus far no one (as far as I know) has been able to get MMJB 10 to recognize their optical drive. All the sites I've went to...most people have installed MMJB v8.2 and lower and while MMJB has installed okay it doesn't recognize the drives. Whatever I have installed or whatever I changed within the files associated with MMJB has led to MMJB noting that there are optical drives connected to my computer. I also noted that when installing 10.00.2058 on one of the next to last times I did not get an error as it relates to files CdDvd_DO.dll and CdDvd_Factory.dll. For those wording how do I know or believe that MMJB is recognizing my CD/DVD drives...it's fairly simple. Whenever I put a CD into my drive, the MMJB program starts up. The theme plays completely and the splash stays on the screen for about 30 seconds. Nothing ends abruptly but unfortunately the program doesn't finish starting up. Obviously there's a hang up there that's preventing the program displaying on the screen. However I do feel we are a lot closer to getting MMJB to work than we were previously, even if it's a small step. It's one in the right direction.
What I think I'm going to do later (probably sometime tomorrow) is go through the entire MMJB folder and set every EXE/Application file associated with the program under Windows XP w/SP2 compatibility. I read a couple articles online was it relates to this and while that has worked for Vista and Windows 7 32 bits, it might work now that MusicMatch is recognizing certain aspects that at least on my computer it previously.
I will update this thread as soon as I have some more information to share.
